Update to Planned Cluster Maintenance: Tues Sept 19, 2017; 8AM-5PM Full Outage

In addition to retiring the nodes servicing the shared queue we will also be retiring the nodes servicing the distributed queue.

Users of the distributed queue should be migrating their jobs to the MPI partition on the H2P cluster, https://crc.pitt.edu/documentation/h2p/. Please submit a help ticket if you require help migrating your scripts from the PBS queueing system to SLURM:

Dear Users,

We will have our scheduled quarterly cluster maintenance on Tuesday September 19 from 8AM to 5PM. This will be a full outage. During this maintenance period, the old AMD Magny-Cours nodes that service the shared queue on the Frank cluster will be retired. The recent expansion of the SMP nodes (https://crc.pitt.edu/documentation/overview-to-crc-resources/) on the H2P cluster will now service these shared-memory applications. Please submit a ticket should you require help with migrating your PBS submission scripts to SLURM.

Other Frank nodes in the distributed queues will be assimilated into the H2P cluster, with the end goal of retiring Frank by the end of the year. This target is still in the planning stages. We will provide notice prior to migration of the Frank hardware into H2P.
